If you’ve got the idea we’re looking for, then don’t waste any time and SIGN UP NOW!

To do so, all you need to do is go to the VivaTech platform and click “Register”.

GO!

Once you’ve successfully registered by completing your profile, then you can go ahead and create your project page on the “project” section. Here you can fill out all the specifics of your idea and select which challenge you’d like to sign up for.

REMINDER: You’re not limited to signing up to one challenge. If you’d like to join one or more challenges, all you need to do is create a project for each challenge you want to sign up for, but beware this means double the work!

Once your profile and project page is created you’ll have access to all the VivaTech platform benefits and should be eligible for the FREE PASS to Viva Technology 2022.

Do I have to know how to code to join?

Not all participants need to be developers. You will need to demo a prototype, so forming a team that accounts for design, UX and code is a great way to go. You will have an opportunity to do this during the time that the hackathon is open. You may also want to recruit colleagues with a broad range of skills to register before the hackathon.

What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is an intense and fun collaborative marathon. Here, “hack” means to create something entirely new from things that already exist – think “MacGyver.” Developers, designers, marketers, data scientists, startups, joined by tech partners, have a limited amount of time to develop new products or services in response to a challenge posed by the hackathon sponsor.

Why should I join the hackathon?

Here are some benefits described by people who have participated in other internal hackathons:

• It’s a new way of working, in a more agile, interdisciplinary and collaborative form.

• Challenge yourself, learn by doing and improve your skills.

• Have a fun and life-changing experience.

• Turn your knowledge into a concrete and innovative product/service.

• Collaborate on a project that might be implemented in real life.

How can I participate in the hackathon?

To participate in the hackathon, you will have to register on the platform of the event. Registrations are open now! They will remain open until the end of the event.

Where is this going to take place?

Online, you will have to submit your project on the platform of the event.

3 projects will be shortlisted for each challenge and will have the opportunity to join the Final Demo Day on VivaTech on the 17th of June.

Shortlisted teams will receive all the necessary information ahead of this event.

How are teams formed?

Teams can be formed either:

Ahead of time if you are joining with people you know or virtually by posting on the platform.

You can also create a project page and recruit new profiles to work on your idea!

What is the allowable team size?

Teams may have 1 to 6 members. No matter the number of teammates, make sure to cover all hats: development, design (UI/UX), business and pitch. One person can absolutely wear several hats but will hardly wear all of them!

How does judging work?

There will be a panel of experts to judge the projects on the technical level of the solution as well as your overall approach.

Here are the judging criteria:

1) Positif impact, environnemental, social, etc.

2) Innovation

3) Technical feasibility

4) Potential business

5) Maturity of the solution

What is the challenge?

You have to refer to the Challenges page of the event platform to discover the 3 Challenges in more detail.

Who is on the judging panel?

The judging panel will be composed of the Sponsors’ top management and will be announced on the platform!

Are there prizes to win?

Absolutely! The prizes will be allocated for each Challenge by its Sponsors and will be announced on the platform!

What is the CODE4GOOD by VivaTech platform?

It is a virtual platform for attendees to watch webinars, engage with mentors and experts, form your team and access resources.

You will also create and submit your projects through this platform.

What equipment will I need for the hackathon?

Your laptop and any other hardware or programme you wish to use.

How can my friends/colleagues/teammates join?

They should [apply here]. We have set no limit of participation, so the more the merrier!
